Care & Feeding of Your New Piece

Cleaning
For a quick polish to brighten the solder, a microfiber or other soft cloth works well. A damp Magic Eraser sponge also works.
For a deeper clean, gently hand wash with dish soap and a soft damp (not wet) cloth or toothbrush. Dry thoroughly with a soft towel.
For extra protection and shine, apply mineral oil (baby oil works well) to protect the solder and bring out the sea glass colors. Wipe away any excess with a paper towel.
Natural aging
The metal will oxidize over time, adding a darker patina. The sea glass will also gain a more frosted appearance. Each artwork has a protective wax coating to slow the process.
You can opt to let your piece age naturally. Or, clean and lightly apply mineral oil as described above
Hanging
For hanging pieces, it’s best to secure a hook or screw to the wall above your window. Suction cups and stick-on hooks tend to fail eventually.
